The Painting Piano
An exploration of art powered by piano playing
This another project from a design course I took over the summer where we were tasked with creating a drawing machine of any kind. As I was still at home during the pandemic, I was able to use our upright piano; as a piano player myself, I have always been intrigued by the intersections of piano music and artistic visualizations. I decided to hook up the piano hammers to markers so that I could “paint” while playing the piano.
